Simulation Nation

Hey.

I paid the hosting bill, two days before this site was going to be forcibly killed.

Well, that must mean that I care about this site, right!  Yes, exactly right.  I have started something rather special in store for Simulation Nation, and expect the update to be very soon.

Trust me, it'll be well worth the wait.

I'll put it this way: Invision Power Board is buggy.  We'll be switching to the free alternative, MyBB, soon enough, but we'll be porting the IPB license to another project site of mine.  This place will die if I can't find any staff members soon, so here's what's on the to-do list:

* First off, if you are interested in becoming a staff member or article writer for this site to help add content and maintain this site in my absence, please contact me at themasterswordsman AT gmail DOTcom. (replace AT and DOT with @ and . if you still can't figure it out)

* Second off, as I stated above, you might need to re-register on the forums when we make the MyBB transition.  When I'm not as busy with schoolwork and the like I'll install MyBB (which really isn't that difficult at all) and integrate its database with the site's database.

* Third off, we may be adding an exchange site where anyone may upload a creation of theirs as long as it fits into the category of the games featured on this site (i.e. custom scenarios, custom maps, mods).

That's all for now.

As promised, we have exactly what we said we would in the update, no matter how long I was distracted by game development and programming:

• A new section for editorials and articles, with today's kickoff being an article about Chris Sawyer
• A review section.  A review for Zoo Tycoon has been added (though the section for the game hasn't!)
• A couple of new forum categories at request of two of our members

On a side-note, we're hiring for those of you who may want to write sections for games and upload your own screenshots.

...Heck, you can already upload screenshots if you're registered!  As long as they're relevant to the game, that is.  So if you've got screenshots, post 'em, and enjoy!

A major content update, once again. This time it's worth it, because we've added sections for the game companies Frontier and Volition, and we've added two new games to accompany them: FreeSpace and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3. We also have opened a section for The Sims. To top it off, we've added a section for free, open source simulation games available everywhere on the internet. Keep joining up on our OpenTTD servers!

What's scheduled for the next update:

• The Reviews section
• The Editorials section
• Some new screenshots for the games added in today's update.
• A few new forums, since we've got too much generalization on our forums currently
